A specialist in western and East Asian book history and a bibliographer, Devin Fitzgerald is the Curator of Rare Books and the History of Printing at the University of California, Los Angeles. Devin was a 2015 Andrew W. Mellon Fellow in Critical Bibliography and received additional training at both the University of Virginia and California Rare Book Schools. He completed his Ph.D. in History and East Asian Languages at Harvard University in 2020. He has published on both early modern European and East Asian print cultures. His current book project is a global history of the paper codex from late antiquity to the nineteenth century.
