Filippo Mardente

Dr. Filippo Mardente is Associate Researcher in the Department of Greek manuscripts at the National Library of France (BnF), Paris. He studied Classics in Milan, Oxford and Paris, and earned his joint doctorate from Sorbonne Université, Paris, and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. He has completed several advanced courses in specialised areas of the Humanities, particularly at the Papyrological Institute “G. Vitelli” in Florence. Dr. Mardente specialised in Greek palaeography and in the history of Greek literary works, conducting his research on manuscripts and early printed books from major library collections. He is currently working on a history of the collections of Greek manuscripts in Europe.
